PIP Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Being generous with a gift as valuable as your time will minister to all Judah Christian School families and aid everyone in serving our students and our Lord.

Judah Christian School depends on parent volunteers to fuel our decision making process and organize the many activities which help to round out our programs. Direct parental involvement is essential for an effective educational environment; your involvement in your child’s education helps them understand the importance you place on school and learning.

Each family is asked to volunteer 25 hours each year in service to the school. The list of possible areas of service includes fundraising activities, volunteer work in the school office, library, or classroom, serving on a committee, maintenance and repair of school property, and much more.

Your commitment of 25 hours helps to keep tuition at a minimum while maintaining an environment of excellence. Each hour of service is valued at $20. Any balance of hours not spent in actual service at the end of the year will be billed to your family’s account. Parents are asked to record PIP hours on your family index card in the PIP hours box located on the counter in the main office.

Answers

1. I have two children at Judah, do I need to complete 50 PIP hours, 25 PIP hours per student?

No, if a family has multiple students at Judah they are only required to complete 25 hours total for the school year.

2. I only have one child in preschool part-time. Do I need to complete 25 hours?

No, preschool parents do not need to perform PIP hours.

3. Do both parents need to contribute to the 25 hours?

It is great to have both parents involved at Judah, however, the 25 hours can be completed by one or both of the parents.

4. Can I donate excess PIP hours?

The goal of PIP hours is to have ALL Judah families involved. Only in extreme long-term circumstances approved by Judah administration may hours be donated.

5. I have young children at home. Can they come with me to volunteer in the classroom?

As a general rule the answer is no. Always check with the teacher prior to volunteering if this is your situation.

6. When do PIP hours need to be completed?

PIP hours need to be completed by the last day of school unless prior arrangements have been made with administration.

7. I’m concerned that I won’t be able to complete 25 PIP hours. What should I do?

Look for ways that fit your schedule. If you divide the 25 hours over the school year, that would mean 3 hours per month. Ask your child’s teacher for ways to help from your home. Attending PTF meetings counts toward PIP hours and will give you additional ideas for ways to be involved at Judah.
